Description

These turkey sliders on Hawaiian rolls are a crowd-pleasing appetizer or a quick and easy meal. They are savory, slightly sweet, and incredibly satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone)
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until thoroughly combined.
  3. Form the turkey mixture into 12 small patties, slightly smaller than the size of the Hawaiian rolls.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the turkey patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  5. While the patties are cooking, slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  7. Place the bottom halves of the Hawaiian rolls on a baking sheet. Place one turkey patty on each roll bottom.
  8. Top each patty with shredded cheese.
  9. Brush the cut sides of the top halves of the rolls with the butter mixture.
  10. Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese-topped patties.
  11. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are lightly golden brown.
  12. Serve immediately with optional toppings.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the turkey mixture.
  • You can substitute ground chicken or beef for the ground turkey.
  • If you don’t have Dijon mustard, regular yellow mustard can be used, but the flavor will be different.
  • For a healthier option, use whole wheat rolls and reduce the butter slightly.
