Description
These turkey sliders on Hawaiian rolls are a crowd-pleasing appetizer or a quick and easy meal. They are savory, slightly sweet, and incredibly satisfying.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone)
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until thoroughly combined.
- Form the turkey mixture into 12 small patties, slightly smaller than the size of the Hawaiian rolls.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the turkey patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
- While the patties are cooking, slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.
- In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Place the bottom halves of the Hawaiian rolls on a baking sheet. Place one turkey patty on each roll bottom.
- Top each patty with shredded cheese.
- Brush the cut sides of the top halves of the rolls with the butter mixture.
- Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese-topped patties.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are lightly golden brown.
- Serve immediately with optional toppings.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the turkey mixture.
- You can substitute ground chicken or beef for the ground turkey.
- If you don’t have Dijon mustard, regular yellow mustard can be used, but the flavor will be different.
- For a healthier option, use whole wheat rolls and reduce the butter slightly.
