Description

A delicious and easy Stuffed Chicken Cordon Bleu Bake that’s perfect for a weeknight meal or special occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut a pocket into each chicken breast.
  3. Stuff each pocket with 2 slices of ham and 2 slices of Swiss cheese.
  4. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour until smooth. Gradually whisk in milk until the sauce thickens. Stir in salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Pour half of the sauce into the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place the stuffed chicken breasts in the baking dish.
  7. Pour the remaining sauce over the chicken.
  8. In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle over the chicken.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and the topping is golden brown.

  • Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • You can add a pinch of nutmeg to the sauce for extra flavor.
  • For a creamier sauce, use heavy cream instead of milk.
