Hey There! I’m Hannah Baker
Culinary Product Developer | Creative Stock & Soup Artisan | Age 29
Denver-based kitchen innovator who believes the heart of any great meal starts with a flavorful, well-crafted broth.
My Story
I’ve always been fascinated by the power of a good kitchen base. Growing up, I loved watching my mother prepare soups and stews from scratch, always beginning with a pot of simmering stock. The way those aromas filled our home planted a seed in me—a curiosity about how such a simple process could create something so rich and comforting.
After studying culinary arts, I dove into the world of product development, working with food brands to bring high-quality stocks and broths to market. That’s how I connected with projects like those at StockChicken—where innovation meets tradition in every pot.
The Turning Point
The moment that truly solidified my path was during a tasting for a new roasted chicken broth. We’d spent weeks testing different roasting times and aromatic blends. When the final version was ready, the first sip felt like a warm embrace—deep, balanced, and comforting. That was when I realized my work wasn’t just about flavor—it was about creating moments people remember.
What I Learned the Hard Way
In my early days, I made the mistake of chasing complexity—adding too many ingredients in an effort to make the broth “special.” Instead, I learned that restraint is key, and that clarity of flavor comes from patience, balance, and precision at every step.
My Approach Now
Now, I focus on simple, high-quality ingredients, careful simmering, and respect for the process. Whether it’s a traditional chicken stock or a modern twist with lemongrass and ginger, my goal is to let each component shine while creating harmony in the final product.
What I Believe
- Simplicity creates depth—less is often more in flavor building.
- Patience is essential—flavor develops slowly and beautifully.
- Quality ingredients lead the way—fresh bones, crisp vegetables, and clean water.
- Food should evoke feeling—comfort, nostalgia, and connection.
How I Can Help You
I help home cooks, chefs, and brands craft stocks and soups that stand out. From developing signature recipes to teaching kitchen techniques, I aim to make the foundation of your cooking as strong as the dishes you serve.
A Little More About Me
When I’m not in the kitchen, I’m exploring Denver’s food scene, hiking in the Rockies, or testing new soup recipes for friends. I’m also a big believer in Sunday meal prep—especially when it starts with a pot of stock on the stove.
